  • Experiment to make your own eruptions using fizzy drinks and mentos

List of materials

  • 3x packets of Mentos mints
  • 3x 2 litre bottles of diet fizzy pop or water (variety of bottles)
  • Rolled up cardboard tube which will fit into the bottle opening
  • Small piece of flat card
  • A clean plastic bottle
  • Water
  • Vegetable Oil (or you could use Mineral or Baby Oil instead)
  • Fizzing tablets (such as Alka Seltzer)
  • Food Colouring
